Lymphoedema Support NI, formerly the Northern Ireland Lymphoedema Support Group (NILSG), was established in October 2002 by a small group of patients together with their physiotherapist to provide support and information for people suffering from lymphoedema and to work towards the availability of better resources for lymphoedema treatment. At that time, information and treatment for patients with lymphoedema in Northern Ireland was very limited.
Our aims were:
- to provide support for people with lymphoedema
- to provide information about lymphoedema and its treatment
- to work towards the availability of better resources for lymphoedema treatment
- to work in partnership with healthcare professionals and others involved in the statutory and voluntary sectors
Lymphoedema Support NI ceased operations in September 2022.
Through fundraising and philanthropic donations our organisation has been enabled to continue to provide the information contained in this website about lymphoedema, its management and treatment which is in line with the CREST guidelines (please click to download).
